Originally released around in November 1993, the Air Jordan IX (9) model was the 1st Air Jordan shoe released after his retirement. It is noted that MJ has never played a full season wearing these sneakers. This model was created in the form of baseball cleats that Jordan used when playing minor-league baseball. Like the Air Jordan VII (7) & VIII (8) models, the Air Jordan IX (9) model featured an inner sock sleeve and nubuck accent. The sole featured different symbols and languages of different countries. Th Air Jordan IX (9) has been the chosen sneaker to aborn MJ's feet for his statue outside of the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
