Although Tinker Hatfield is the name most associated with the design of the Air Jordan line, but Peter More was really the designer of the Air Jordan I (1). The Air Jordan 1 pair of sneakers was considered a breakthrough in basketball shoe design and schemes.

The Air Jordan's I (1) is similar to the Nike Dunk and the Air Force 1 shoe put together in appearance. When 1st released the Air Jordan's sold for $125! The NBA banned the Air Jordan 1 from being worn in the league , because it was traditional the wear all white shoes at the time. MJ, however, still wore the Air Jordan 1 and was fined $5,000 a game. Nike exploited the marketing opportunity created by the league's reactions to the shoe combined with Jordan's exploding popularity, paying the fines throughout his rookie campaign. MJ sported the Black/Red color scheme aka "Banned" while winning the 1984-85 Rookie of the Year. In his second year in the playoff's against the Boston Celtics including his 63 point effort he wore the Air Jordan 1 White/Black/Red. Nike Has Released many Air Jordan 1 Retro versions sinse the original came out in 1985.
